UMI - University Medical Imaging

Kathy Doser, B.S. RT(R)

Chief Technologist

Treating patients like family members.

A NYS-licensed Radiologic Technologist, Kathy brings 25 years of medical experience to UMI, where she has worked for 11 years. Inspired by the professionalism of her mother, a nurse, Kathy began her career on the pediatrics floor of Genesee Hospital. There, she became interested in the diagnostic aspect of patient care and a career in imaging.

She earned her B.S. at St. John Fisher College while working as a full-time Staff Technologist at Genesee Hospital.

Kathy is a beloved mentor to future generations of Technologists. For 14 years, she taught radiologic technology students at Genesee Hospital, where she received three "Golden Apple" teaching awards. She now trains Monroe Community College students during their clinical rotation at UMI. In May 2015 Kathy was presented with "The JRCERT certificate of Excellence for Outstanding Performance as a Clinical Educator in Radiologic Scieneces" by Monroe Community College.

As an educator and an expert in her field, Kathy continually stays up to date on the latest technologies and methods of patient care. Yet her advice to students is timeless: "Always treat patients as if they were members of your own family, respectfully and with kindness."
