Dr. Varnis specializes in neuroradiology, body and musculoskeletal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and is an Assistant Professor of Radiology at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry.

Dr. Varnis completed medical school at SUNY Downstate. Her internal medicine residency and rheumatology fellowship were completed at the University of Massachussetts Medical Center. After 13 years in practice as a rheumatologist, including 11 years in the Rochester community in affiliation with University of Rochester, she completed a diagnostic radiology residency at Rochester General Hospital. Dr. Varnis completed University Medical imaging’s own Advanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging Fellowship in 2008.

Certified by the American Board of Radiology, Dr. Varnis is a member of the American College of Radiology, American Roentgen Ray Society and the Radiologic Society of North America.
